It's been a while, there's a lot to catch you up on, for starters, I just moved into a new studio space!

Like many others, for the past year and half I've been working from my bedroom, running my shop and creating illustrations all whilst being 2 feet away from my bed...

Now don't get me wrong, if you're reading this right now and you're in the same position, don't be discouraged, you can be extremely productive no matter where you are, but in my case, I wasn't...

You see, I'm the type of person that needs to create boundaries when it comes to work and life, without them I never seem to get that work-balance thing right. On top of this, my Etsy stock was slowly growing out of control and I no longer had the space to store anything anymore.

So, as a result, I expanded!

It has always been a dream of mine to one day have my own studio, dedicated to everything art. I would have never thought that the dream would come true so soon though, so when the opportunity arose to convert an old guest bedroom in my parents house, I couldn't say no!

The room needed to have a lot of work done to make it a suitable space, but luckily I'm always up for a project. First things first, I got rid of the old carpet and put in wood laminate flooring, an easy DIY project right?.. Not quite. After the first few failed attempts I finally got the hang of it, and boy was it worth it. Along the way I also learnt how to plaster as there was some damage to the wall due to an old damp problem. It was just like icing a cake, kind of...

Organisation

Since being in the new space I've really learnt what works for me and what doesn't, for example the flow of the room was really important to me and after a few tweaks I finally have a great system going with dedicated spaces for packing Etsy orders and making products! I've also expanded my plant collection (yes it was mandatory), and so far they're all still alive...

With this new space comes new, exciting opportunities and I have so many ideas for future projects that I can't wait to get started on including new products for my shop!

I documented the whole process of moving into the new studio in my latest Studio Vlog!
